The Kibirigwi Kiangai washing station was created in 1953, at the same time the group of farmers decided to establish the the Kibirigwi Farmers Coop Society. The Society employs an agronomist to educate their members on Good Agricultural Practices (GAPS). The agronomist works with the farmers and pickers throughout the harvest and during the off season, training them as a group and one on one. The Coop also produces over 200,000 seedlings every year for its members free of charge, to promote crop regeneration. It also distributes manure to promote organic fertilisation techniques.
We look forward to the new Kenyans every year, it’s one of our favourite origins. It tastes best brewed as filter coffee, and just never gets boring!
